What is SyncareXR?

SyncareXR is a clinician-controlled Mixed Reality platform for live, co-located group psychotherapy. Patients wear wireless MR headsets while the therapist orchestrates the entire session — environment, pacing, stimulation, and group flow — from a single Android tablet, in the same room.

The platform preserves the live therapeutic relationship while unlocking the unique advantages of immersive XR: controlled sensory environments, interactive psychological tools, and synchronized group experiences impossible in traditional settings.

No specialized room, no cables, no on-site technical team. Built for clinical environments that need reliable, rapid deployment.

Treatment Modalities

Mindfulness

Patients interact with immersive three-dimensional energy spheres — a visual metaphor for emotional states and inner burdens. The therapist guides the group through awareness and release exercises, while XR amplifies present-moment attention and helps patients observe their inner world rather than be overwhelmed by it.

EMDR

Clinician-controlled bilateral stimulation guides patients through the desensitization and reprocessing protocol in real time. With EMDR 2.0 capabilities, the therapist manages stimulus speed, direction, and pacing — keeping the protocol consistent across every patient simultaneously.

CBT

Patients interact with immersive representations of their own thought patterns, making abstract cognitive processes visible and tangible. A virtual chest allows patients to physically "lock away" their burdens — externalizing and containing negative thoughts as a concrete therapeutic act. The clinician guides the group through restructuring exercises within a shared XR environment designed to deepen engagement and insight.

Who It's For

SyncareXR is designed for organizations and practitioners working in trauma-informed, clinical, and rehabilitation contexts.

Mental Health Clinics

Clinics seeking structured, scalable group therapy formats for trauma and PTSD support programs.

Hospitals & Healthcare Organizations

Healthcare systems piloting extended reality tools within existing Mental Health or trauma-care frameworks.

Rehabilitation Centers

Rehabilitation programs requiring immersive therapeutic environments without complex infrastructure.

Mental Health Therapists

Certified Mental Health practitioners looking to extend their practice into a group-based immersive format.

Trauma-Care Programs

Programs providing trauma-focused care that benefit from a shared, controlled therapeutic environment.

First Responder Support Programs

Programs supporting firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders with occupational trauma needs.

How It Works

From setup to session completion, SyncareXR is built for straightforward clinical deployment.

01

Set Up Wireless Headsets

Power on Meta Quest headsets for each participant. No cables, no wired infrastructure, and no technical specialist needed on-site.

02

Therapist Starts the Session

The clinician uses the dedicated Android tablet to launch the session, control bilateral stimulation, manage pacing, and monitor the group in real time.

03

Participants Enter a Gradual MR to VR Experience

Participants begin in Mixed Reality — seeing their real environment — and gradually transition into a fully immersive Virtual Reality environment at the therapist's direction.

04

Shared Synchronized Environment

The group shares a synchronized therapeutic environment, supporting cohesion and the simultaneous bilateral stimulation central to Mental Health protocols.

Platform Features

SyncareXR combines clinical workflow design with extended reality technology.

Real-Time Group Therapy

The therapist controls all headsets simultaneously from a single tablet — adjusting stimulation, pacing, and session state without interrupting participants.

Gradual MR to VR Transition

Patients begin in Mixed Reality, grounded in their physical surroundings, and gradually transition into full Virtual Reality — supporting comfort and reduced disorientation.

Hand Tracking & Gestures

No controllers required. Natural hand interaction is built in, reducing setup complexity and making the experience more accessible to a range of participants.

Co-Located Shared Experience

Group members share a synchronized immersive environment — a key component of the therapeutic group dynamic that SyncareXR is designed to support.

Easy Rapid Deployment

Wireless Meta Quest headsets mean no specialized room, no cables, and no technical team required. SyncareXR is built for real clinical environments, not lab setups.

Clinical Rationale

SyncareXR is informed by research across several intersecting fields: Mental Health therapy, virtual reality exposure therapy, group therapy dynamics, mixed reality interaction design, clinical usability, and trauma-focused care.

The design of the platform reflects established principles from Mental Health protocol structure, including bilateral stimulation, graded exposure, and the importance of therapist-led pacing. The gradual Mixed Reality to Virtual Reality transition is informed by research on presence, safety, and tolerance in immersive therapeutic contexts.

Group delivery of Mental Health — while less common than individual sessions — has been explored in clinical and field settings. SyncareXR is built to support that application in a structured, manageable format.

SyncareXR does not claim to be a standalone treatment or a replacement for qualified Mental Health therapy. It is a platform designed to support trained clinicians in delivering group-based therapeutic programs.

Deployed in Clinical Settings

SyncareXR is used in real-world clinical and rehabilitation programs, not only research prototypes.

Year 2 Clinical Pilot

Clalit Health Services

SyncareXR is in its second year of clinical piloting under the ClalitXR program — one of Israel's largest healthcare organizations. The pilot evaluates group Mental Health delivery within a structured healthcare system context.

Rehabilitation Program

Patrizio Paoletti Foundation

SyncareXR is deployed as part of the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation's trauma recovery program for firefighters — providing structured group Mental Health therapy in an immersive VR environment.

Host Facility

Healing Space Rishpon (Havat Marpe Rishpon)

Sessions are conducted at Healing Space Rishpon — a nature-based healthcare center providing the therapeutic environment for the firefighters program.
